Legal experts indicate that both Republican and Democratic attorneys general are collaborating to fill the gaps left by the federal government, particularly in areas such as antitrust violations and deceptive marketing. Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, who leads the bipartisan National Association of Attorneys General, emphasized the growing need for states to respond to consumer concerns. “We do a ton of work in trying to pick up the pieces,” he stated, highlighting a national affordability campaign aimed at reducing consumer costs.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita reported multiple investigations into unfair pricing practices at gas stations amidst fluctuating fuel prices. “We know every penny matters right now and are committed to making sure you are treated fairly at the pump during this time,” Rokita said in a statement.
